Well I always enjoy living in the Sookieverse for awhile, but now I'm depressed. I actually enjoyed this more than the last 2 in the series, but there are some dark moments for Sookie in this book, and she seems to be at a very major crossroads in her life, with both of us unsure of what's coming next.
There are several major plot points which occur in this book, all of which I would consider spoilers, so I can't really discuss them well. But they make Sookie consider how she views herself, and what she is truly capable of. She does a few stupid things, or rather not well thought out, but who hasn't? And when she does, she claims them as her own mistakes.
The most recent books in the series are more like a week in the life of Sookie, where bad things happen to her, than one tightly drawn mystery, and may not be everyone's cup of tea. But I like her (just wish more happy things happened to her!) so it's not a problem for me.
