Thank you my goodreads friends. I don't usually read reviews of books that I know that I am absolutely going to read anyway, in case a spoiler slips in and ruins everything for me. In this case, I saw a few 3 star reviews, which surprised me, so I did read those. Most were given for one of three reasons, the book is too dark, Dani as a narrator is annoying, or the reader was freaked out by all the love interests for a 14 year old girl.
Having kept all that under advisement while I read this story, none of that annoyed me too much. I absolutely loved the Fever series, and while I miss Mac and Barrons alot, I did enjoy revisiting the world, and thought the central mystery was a good one. I actually did not like it, when the story switched to Kat's perspective as much as when it was told from Dani's. Can't wait for the next installment!
