Who knew that Stephen King could write a love story, because that is what this really is. Sure it claims to be a time travel book, about a teacher who is able to travel back in time from 2011 to 1958, and avert the assasination of JFK. And while it was that, it was so much more. It was an analysis of how life was simpler and friendlier back in the early sixties. However, it was only simpler and friendlier for white, christian males. There was no equality of the sexes and the color barrier had certainly not been broken. And it's a sci fi book, because it examines how little changes can create epic future disasters via the butterfly effect.
But what really got me was the love story, and it had me crying at the end. This is my new favorite Stephen King book!
